But he’ll say he did the country a service by running, and he might be right.

A practical joke gone awry.

God I have been waiting so long to tell all of my friends an colleagues how stupid they are for thinking he was a real candidate. I’m glad I kept my mouth shut though a few days ago I was afraid that I was the stupid one.
Of course he’ll say that he did the country a service haha, and I agree he might be right!

Oh, spiffy.
Because Ted, I am willing to do absolutely anything to get MY way so Fuck You!, Cruz is a great choice as well?
We are so fucked.

I’ll admit I’ve googled moving to Canada in the event that Trump became president. A truly scary thought having that man in the commander’s seat.

Clinton vs Cruz 2016, or as I call it, We’re F’d in the A 2016

Would you want a doctor who has never used a stethoscope? How about a cop who never went through firearms training? Then why would anyone want a president who has never been involved in politics? He probably can’t even answer how a bill becomes a law

I've always thought his presidential bid was for publicity. Maybe he wants a Kardashian style reality show.

I’d rather write in Turd Sandwich as a candidate.

Sanders, for all his faults, represents the current ‘best’ option to try and wrest power away from Corporate America and back into the hands of the people. But, we are sadly too scared and polarized to actually elect him.
When the banks are publicly discussing how scary the possibility of him being elected POTUS is, then that is
exactly
what we should do. They don’t make much noise about Clinton, which speaks volumes.
And everyone on the “Right” side of the coin wants to turn the country into a theocracy; where God, Greed, and Guns are the rule of the land, not necessarily in that order. (And I am not making any judgment about gun ownership.)
So, yup. We’re boned.

With this and the Clinton email scandal that’s rising out of the water again, it’ll be Cruz vs Sanders, and Sanders will win.

At least Trump might have been amusing.

You could take a trip and visit the Birthplace of Ted Cruz

No one
in his inner circle could possibly have told him that skipping the debate was a good idea, unless nobody in Trump’s circle says anything but “Yes.” Trump would have been an amusing alternative, but he’s blown it.

A POTUS reality show? Filmed inside the Whitehouse? Brilliant!

He’s good pals with Hillary. He’s just running to muddy up the waters and clear a path for her.

I hope that doesn’t make me stupid. I looked at Trump and thought, Well, at least he’ll be something different . And then he flushed it down the toilet. So I guess you’re right, though I take mild exception to the “how stupid my friends are” part.
Me? I’m disappointed. Not that I ever liked the guy, but he would have been liberal Kryptonite.

I’d be more interested to visit the birthplace of poutine. Stuff looks delicious.

Sounds reasonable. I really detest Hillary Clinton. But the thought of Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio picking the next to SCOTUS justices is kind of off-putting.

No. This is not a valid simile. Someone who’s never been involved in politics is exactly who I want to elect.

No no one is actually stupid I was just blown away when Trump started to pick up steam. Last week it was really looking like he and Hilary would be it!

So you want someone who has no idea how government works to be elected to the most powerful political position in our country?
![]() 02/04/2016 at 18:10 |

I agree with Sanders on almost all issues. Right now the only one I disagree with is banning “assault rifles”
![]() 02/04/2016 at 18:24 |

Just because someone has never been involved in politics doesn’t mean that they don’t know how the government works.

This isn’t a statement for or against any particular candidate or party, just a general question. But, why do people in other states give a shit about what Iowa thinks? They picked Bush over Reagan in 1980, Dole over Bush in 1988, Gephardt over Dukakis in 1988, Harkin over Clinton in 1992, Huckabee over McCain in 2008, and Santorum over Romney in 2012. They don’t have that great a history of predicting the national winner for either main party, in some cases, they don’t even pick the guy that comes in #2.
Just seems odd that voters elsewhere would alter what I assume to be deeply held personal beliefs based on what some people in another state think.
I mean, no weirder than basing your vote on the opinions of the editorial staff of your local newspaper, but still weird.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 08:04 |

Not quite. You should be put in the most powerful political position if you have zero political experience. That is true for everything. Should not be in charge of an auto company if you don’t even know how suck, squeeze, bang, blow works

Good question. It probably doesn’t matter a whole lot where the first primary was. A group of citizens voting with their feet, literally. It happens to be a group of overwhelmingly White, Christian, straight citizens...
I’m disappointed that Trump didn’t do better because I am not much in favor of establishment anybody right now.
And the next president is going to pick at least two SCOTUS justices... Do we need another Scalia or Alito or Thomas?
